Eyes to Wonder

Have eyes to wonder, but lack tongues to praise

If people really had eyes to wonder

they would wonder why they are duped

by politicians who are simply grifters

lacking the tongues to tell the truth,

let alone praise anyone but themselves.

If people really had eyes to wonder

they would wonder why a constitution

allows a convicted felon to stand

for the highest office in the land

instead of serving a jail sentence.

One side of the political divide

clearly lacks the tongues to praise

anyone but the stranger to the truth

whose greed and malignant narcissism

are a real and present danger to democracy.

a line, (a short one)

Hogsbreath Plays at SunTzu

Hogsbreath, secretary for War,

bone-spurred on by the Orange bore,

has harangued the military Top Brass

telling them they’d better evoke

the warrior spirit and not the woke.

Fuming, they could have kicked his ass.

Generals and admirals sat stony-faced

while Hogsbreath gripped the pulpit as he braced

himself like a preacher delivering God’s word.

The commanders only showed their contempt

for the preposterous moron’s pompous attempt

to lecture them as if war was a word they’d never heard!

When the preacher finished, they didn’t linger,

telepathically giving him the middle finger.
