Poems
by Robert Plath

empty & distorted

i smashed

the proverbial glass

against the wall

bone-dry shards flew

a sliver in each

fucking eye

a line, (a short blue one)

4,800 x an hour

his heart

was a fist-sized

red skull

w/ in his chest

yet it opened

& closed

like a bone

rose

a line, (a short blue one)

existential fake news

god

identity

meaning

immortality

hope

connection

etc…

a line, (a short blue one)

ease

i never read

the newspaper

on sunday morning

i listen to

leonard cohen

a line, (a blue one)
