Hidden, secret, unrevealed thoughts leak into vessels otherwise meant
To share light, warmth, also a measure of comfort. Akin to damaged
Music boxes, these ampules often make known skirmishes encased
In lovely glass.
If not for tears’ streaks or ruddy cheeks, such struggles might remain
Invisible, veiled by half smiles else thinned lips surrounding curt
Discourse. It’s irregular for stoic folk to disclose innermost cuts
Of hurt.
Contrariwise, parties sensitive to passion’s processes might detect a
Faint anguish, a central valley so deep as to obscure all rays, balm.
A bleak place where propitiousness has withered and courage has
Died.
Unwarranted Esteem
Prima ballerinas, mafia bosses, bike club presidents, hedge fund babies,
Other “entertainers” fail to notice goodness in performance-free living,
Moreover, might keep asking grown-up children for goals, rather than
Encouraging descendants to embrace morality’s diachronous rectitude.
Dof sorts, contrariwise, remain blithe concerning darb behaviors; they
Staw locked in the vexillology of foolish fame, fortune, otherworldly
Assigning of worth to tosh. Few among such folks realize the weight
Of conveying personal growth’s advantage to our future generations.
If we’re to haud important heights, to sidestep ethical cenotes, then it’s
Best to tout the merits of “authentic lifestyles.” Yet, we’re mystified by
Prescribed postures. Perhaps, what’s needed isn’t recommendations but
Tacit examples of virtuosity. Sparkles, else bank, never, ever rebuilt us.
Demulcent
Soft actions, akin to beadwood poultices, bring healing. After all, it’s the
Salving of sundry sorts of feelings that’s concomitant to therapeutic ends.
See, larikins plus other scoundrels provide no emollient effect to anguish.
Soothing expressions, in contrast, can cull restorative energy, can construct
A calming impact on pulchertude-filled souls, can erase the crepitus found
Amid harsh ideas. Mild easing, allows, perhaps, the respawning of purpose.
When mollifying minds racing like chess engines, dissuading performative
Choices, palliative actions abide no malfeasance or ponderous restorations.
Rather, they assuage character in dearests reaching for benevolence’s acro.
