Alms
by Terry Brinkman

During lent, we give up things that may help us to improve ourselves; and donate to help others, cash is the usually medium we donate. I try to donate Alams of cash and goods like food to the food bank or baked goods for Saturday Night Bingo.

This year on Palm-Sunday I went to the Red Cross Collection Center. I tried to make an appointment but all the spots for Whole Blood was full; but they now accept walk-ins. That was stopped Durning the worst of Covid, I don’t say during covid; I think we are still in covid.

Sunday April Sixth the Pharmas at Target called me to say I could come and get a new Covid shot. I and my wife went to Target April Seventh and got covid shots (will it ever end).  Anyway I pulled the Red Cross sight up on my laptop and did the paper work and printed a copy;  you are able to put it on your Smart-Phone but I only have flip phone ( I only have it on when I make a call or know someone is calling me, like to meet up with my wife). I got to the Red Cross at 8:45 A.M. As a walk in I may need to wait, but there was no wait - I got right in.

Great, this year part of my Alams was donating blood on Palm Sunday (oh yea I went to mass Saturday night - was also Bingo Saturday so my wife took some Baked Goods;  yea if my wife gives I count it as me also).
