What on earth is all this
about?
Well, with apologies to Winamp, it's Winamop, a new
website devoted to British literary works of some, though not necessarily much,
merit.
All human life is here, experienced people, skilled
writers and rank amateurs, sometimes they hit the mark, sometimes they
belly-flop (sometimes they mix their metaphors). You pick up the pieces and
make of them what you will.
We aim to maintain a showcase for new writing which
will grow as you, dear reader, feels inspired to contribute. There are
47 pages at present, check the "Editor's Log"
to find out what's been added recently.
Any pages that contain material "unsuitable for
children" have been labelled using ICRA guidelines. Most of the site is
unlabeled and perfectly fine for "all the family" however.
You'll get the general idea of the sort of thing as
you look around. Select a genre from the buttons at the top and if you consider
that you have something to say that may fit in with the quality of our
offerings, then don't be shy, send it in!
We cannot offer you riches of any kind whatsoever but,
and this is the good bit, we will send all published contributors a
commemorative mop. Yes, I know it's hard to believe the scale of our
generosity... but don't get too excited, it's just one of those small ones used
for washing the dishes.
These could become prized collectors-items in years to
come, with the kudos of a prestigious literary award! It's unlikely I know, but
if you want one don't forget to include your address with your e-mail.
The mail button is at bottom-right by the way.
Thank you for your attention
The Editor.
