Poems
by Dominik Slusarczyk

The Dream Beach

I wake, stretch,

Yawn, stumble to

My short window,

Throw the curtains on

A flickering fire.

I see the world outside is still wet.

I go back to sleep.

I dream of a sandy beach.

There isn’t even a whisper of sea.

Nameless people plod

Along the sweet meat sand.

They shout slurs at me.

They seem to want

Me to clothe myself.

I ignore the wrapped up idiots.

a line, (a short blue one)

Ribbon

The fake man wins

The fake hand.

a line, (a short blue one)

Another

I love another.

I’m sorry I can’t

Conquer your country.

I’m sorry I can’t

Make your madness miserable.

I’m sorry I can’t

Love little lambs that

Look like you.

You are the sun and

I am the moon.

The space between us

Is so dark I scream all night.

a line, (a short blue one)

Flight

We can fly

Downwards

As fast as we dream of screaming.

a line, (a blue one)
