Poems
by Sofia Kioroglou

I try

I am
not a saint
I try not to swear
but sometimes I do
I try

a line, (a short blue one)

A war

The air
Swells with dark clouds
Thunder rumbles and claps
Big, fat drops ping off the glass roof
A war.

a line, (a short blue one)

Like the measles

Love happens only once.
Just like the measles
You take it only once
Your heart is a firework
flashing heavenwards
no second time in your lifetime.
Meteor-like, it blazes for a moment
but bang goes the illusion
"Love conquers all"
Not always
A hoax perhaps
An indulgent delusion definitely

a line, (a blue one)
